Run Jobs

Run Jobs are custom batch programs written to accomplish more complex tasks than can be accomplished with Quick Selects or Import Files.

The Run Jobs page lists all the Run Jobs in the system, including the command, the status, and starting and ending times for jobs that are completed. Use the icons in the last column to view, edit or delete a Run Job.

Run Job index page

To create a new Run Job click the Create link in the operations menu at upper right. Then from the Command dropdown, choose the Run Job you wish to execute. One or more parameter fields will appear to the right, which need to be completed. Select a Status: 'Starting' if you are ready for the system to run your job or 'Pending' if you want to keep it in draft mode for now. The Start Date and Start Time default to the present, but if you want your job to run later, choose a date and time in the future and the system will wait until that time to run your job.

Before the system will run a job, two things must be true: the Status is Starting and the Start Date and Time are less than or equal to now.

Run jobs can be in one of five statuses:

  1. Pending: This is basically a draft status. The system will ignore this job as long as it stays in Pending status.

  2. Starting: Change the status to Starting when you want the system to run your job.

  3. Processing: Once the system starts processing the job, it will change the status to Processing.

  4. Completed: If the job completes successfully, the system will change the status to Completed.

  5. Errors: If the job encounters errors, the system will change the status to Errors.

If you have running or recently completed Run Jobs, the system will display them at the top of each page, permitting you to continue working while the Run Job runs in the background.
